‘Gut t sin y- gr’ to you, too

Note

A
s long as I’m giving credit to Ms. Jones for her nice note, I should acknowledge that the governor sent us a nice, handwritten note — the proper kind — after his interview last week.

At least, I think it was nice. I also think that Mr. Sanford may have learned one thing from his primary opponent Oscar Lovelace — how to write like a doctor.

What do you think it says? My best guess is, "Great to see your group." That’s a stretch, but that’s my guess. Maybe you can do better.

The “signature” is the most sincere part of the note.
Or, maybe he was starting a math problem…

You guys at the paper must be illiterate. The note is in French…it says:
    “You guys are dopes”
Ya’ll musta went to SC public schools…

Clearly, the Gubner is using the Laplace Transformation on a trig function with unknown bivariation.
    I believe it reads:
f(t) + sin(y gamma) with a square root as his scratch work (guess he’s not using a calculator).
Either that, or it’s the Nexium prescription his doctor wrote for him after he and Jenny learned “the bad news that Bolton Sanford would not be on the calendar”.

Brad: I, too, have gotten personally written messages from the governor. Instead of making fun of his writing, I’ve always considered them gracious…not a word I use about too many politicians. There is one less gracious editorial editor than I thought there was.

Bob, does your above comment reflect the fact that you agree pretty much with Sanford’s policies? I mean, did you get the same kind of notes from Hodges, and if you did, would you say the same thing?
Maybe you did and would. I’m asking, not assuming. Just interested.

Bob, I do think it’s nice, and I appreciate it. It shows good breeding, and that he hasn’t forgotten what his mama taught him. Or maybe what his wife tells him. My mama handed me over to my wife 32 years ago, and has let HER try to “sivilize” me ever since. To this day, she pretty much has to stand over me and tap her foot to get me to write a “thank you” note.
Like Huck Finn, I don’t take well to sivilization myself, but I am always impressed by the “quality” folk who observe such genteel conventions.
I may criticize the governor, but I wouldn’t want to make him feel bad about having done the right thing. I suspect, though, that he shrugged and smiled if he read this.
And Herb, in defense of Bob, I don’t think he is particularly a Sanford Republican. And if I made fun of a social note from Jim Hodges — something I’m not likely to receive, by the way — I think Bob would take me to task for it.

I hope Sanford’s not wasting his time reading some blog full of dopes (including me). I hold my public servants to a higher standard than I do for myself.

I think it says “Great to see you again.” I spent two years working for a guy who was an M.D. and a Ph.D, maybe that’s how I can pick it up.
I’ve never gotten a note from this governor (or the one before him either) and I’m not sure I ever got one from the one I worked for. I did get a photo of me at a news conference signed by the governor Bob worked for and it was funny and thoughtful. Not sure it was his idea — Bob or Tucker probably put him up to it — but the note on the photo was funny. I still have the photo and now I wish I could tease Campbell about it.

Maybe so, but at least WE could properly spell the contraction “y’all”…
Also, Mr. Warthen, your actions betray your words. You claim to be a Huck fan, but given your stances on most standard blog issues, you’ve shown yourself to be quite the Tom Sawyer and, at least, sivilized on the surface.
A true rebel runaway, you ain’t…
