Nazis praise white South Carolinians for having “guts” to fly Confederate flag at State House

OK
, here’s the video. We have two clips from the Nazi rally today.Ernst

The first is the National Socialist Movement presidential candidate, John Taylor Bowles, explaining why he
is "South Carolina’s only presidential candidate" — he defends our flying of the Confederate flag on our State House grounds.

The second speaker was a young rip-snorter, but I failed to catch his name. Anyway, he was really proud of us South Carolinians for the way we stick up for white power by flying that flag — and he taunted blacks and us whites who wanted it down by pointing out that thanks to the compromise of 2000 that Glenn McConnell is so proud of, it’s now "IN YOUR FACE!"

Which, of course, it is.

How do you feel about the attitude towards South Carolina of the two convicted criminals who were NAACP presidents, when they praised the compromise which removed the flag from atop the state house?
One is a convicted armed robber, gang member, and admits to having fathered nearly a dozen illegitimate children. The other was convicted of fire-bombing a white grocery store.

  2. JimT

Cool. The more coverage like that, the sooner the thing will come down. Glenn McConnell really is a loser if he thinks this issue is just going to blow over.

  3. Ready to Hurl

Brad, did you catch McConnell’s reference to the flag being authentic down to the material?
You said that it’s some man-made fabric. If that’s the case, then it looks like the flag supporters were the first to betray the “compromise.”
Perhaps Sen. McConnell would like to re-enact the last glorious voyage of the CSS Hunley– as Captain.

  4. Brad Warthen

Actually, the compromise was that it would be a particularly heavy cotton fabric that would not fly easily in a normal wind. This was pointed out to me ahead of time the day the agreement was reached.
Within months after it was implemented, McConnell had it replaced with a light silk. Still natural, but much better able to fly in the slightest breeze.
The excuse was that the cotton faded too quickly. But the heaviness of the cotton was a part of the compromise agreement — at least when it was spelled out to me.

My point would be that you get all lathered up over a few white racists who talk ugly, but give a pass to black racists who actually have committed violent crimes or urged others to commit violent crimes against whites, Jews and Asians. Why do media pundits do that, Brad?

    Brad
You see now why we defend the flag. Its as plain as the nose on your misguided face.
The scum we had in Columbia yesterday. The scum we had on Jan. 22nd past-HATE MONGERS WHO HAVE CO-OPTED THE BATTLE FLAG.
Now I would like an honest answer Brad. If you succeed in bringing down this flag, will you call for the soldiers’ monument to go too?
No one wants to debate this.Come on bloggers!
    I REST MY CASE!!!!

We’ve already proven the [so-called] American [Nazis] National Socialist Movement, know practially NOTHING about American history. They clearly know nothing about the “American Civil War”, or the Confederacy. As was pointed out, over 10,000 Jews fought for the Confederacy, as did the same approx, number of Native American Indians. The CSA had a Jewish Attorney General, Sec. of State, Sec. of War, and the Head Matron, Phoebe Yates Pember [of Chimborazo Hospital the largest in the South, located at Richmond] was herself Jewish. Here’s something else they don’t know:
    [Quote]
Individual blacks served the Confederacy for extended periods. Louis Napolean Nelson was in the 7th Tennessee Cavalry, CSA, at Chattanooga in 1863 and served the remainder of the wear. After the war, he attended more than 30 conventions of the United Confederate Veterans. Louis’ grandson, Nelson Winbush of Kissiminee, Florida, is chairman of the national membership committee of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

But really, who cares what the Nazi’s say! The flag most certainly does NOT belong to them, nor does it represent their disgusting views.

Thank you Brad, for keeping this event in the public eye in The State. It is really chilling. I hope someone will email these video clips to McConnell (I don’t have his email address). South Carolinians, let’s not be complacent about this. SC is now one of the states with the largest number of hate groups. Even though these guys sound like ignorant morons, they are dangerous, and people seem all too eager to join their ranks.

If you look at the photos, these so-called Nazis are from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, etc.

  10. Getting Sick of the Flag Flap

RE “the flag”: people are so worked up about what they call THEIR FLAG, when it’s really a battle flag of the army of Northern Virginia. Did S.C. not have a battle flag? It seems to me, it would be more appropriate to have a S.C. battle flag displayed at the War Memorial Park (near the Viet Nam memorial).

    History Lesson for Flag Haters
South Carolina’s militias fought under the Army of Northern Virginia, and with the Army of Tennessee.
There are lots of appropriate flags of the Confederacy to fly at the monuments. Which one do you prefer?

  13. Karl

Somehow the Confederate flag has become a “proud” symbol of the most deadly act of civil disobedience in history. I am not a Southerner, But I had ancestors on both sides in the war of rebellion. I want that Flag FORGOTTEN. I want it to take its place in history with the likes of the Flag of Saint George. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_George's_Cross
Often mistaken for the symbol of the Red Cross, the Flag of St. George is HATED in Muslim lands.
Or Despised as the Flags of the Third Reich. It represents a vile and shameful period in American history. IT IS A BANNER OF TREASON.

    Moderate guy-
Please explain why it is s frightfully imperative to fly a flag at the monument at all. On contrast, exactly how is a display if the battle flag in a museum somehow “dishonorable”? If it’s on display somewhere, that surely seems to be a form of honor to me!
Is it because the state was once a part of the Confederacy? Well, then here’s a little history lesson for you; once upon a time, we all were part of an ENGLISH colony. If we are to fly a Confederate flag on the state house grounds by reason of historical precedent, then by all accounts, we should raise a monument to King Charles and fly the English Union Jack next to it as well.
After all, the plight of the confederates and the loyalists is REMARKABLY similar, should you care to look into it. On top of that, our state is named for that King. If you are going to accuse folks of “rewriting history” as you expressed on other posts, then you should have utterly no problem honoring the memory of the fallen loyalist sons who bravely fought for king and country against the “terrorisms” of the patriot “renegades”.
Another history lesson: extended families were torn apart by such major conflicts. The result was that sons, fathers, uncles, and nephews fought each other on BOTH sides. Would it not be fitting and proper to honor ALL of those who died? Would it not behoove flag supporters to concede that there was a great tragedy and suffering on all accounts? Or is only one side worthy? Could you, by any chance, have a union ancestor?
Should we submit to selective memory recall and focus only on ONE side? Or is it more dignified to honor ALL the dead, ALL those who have fallen, and ALL those who have sacrificed? If you think there is something wrong with that, then offer a reasonable explanation as to why.
My family traces their ancestry to both revolutionary and loyalist soldiers during the war for independence (what the Loyalist and English called “War of the Insurrection”), as well as confederate and union soldiers during the CW. It doesn’t stop there either. In the early 20th c., a part of my family were whom were of German origin, supported the Kaiser in “the Great War”, while other members of my family were gassed at the front fighting on “our side”. When I was young, I thought that was awfully strange, but it turns out that much of Lexington county was supportive of the Germans at that time, while Richland was firmly in the other camp.

  15. Moderate Guy

    Mr. zzzzzzzzzz,
I never said it was “imperative” to display that Confederate flag at the monument. Nor did I say it was “dishonorable” to display it in a museum. I realize what I did say is based in facts that many haters of Americanism may not be able to face directly, or simply are new and shocking to them.
I think the primary objection most of us have to various desecrations of all our flags is that it is another victory for the enemies of the epitomy of Western civilization, America as designed in its Constitution.
Whether it is the ex-convict leaders of the NAACP, fire-bombers, neo-Nazis, or some football coach who can’t keep his players from wearing gang symbols as tatoos, they do not represent a higher order of society. What they want is to drag the rest of us down to their level, and insist that the motives of us and our ancestors are as base as their own, which is simply not true.

Great video! However, I think YouTube has pulled it off the site now. That is a shame! EVERYONE in the House and Senate should see what this flag inspires!
And to the guy who asked about the Confederate monument, I say move it all the way around back of the Statehouse with Strom’s statue, I’m sure Strom would be very happy to have some company.

The videos show a bunch of yankees on our state house steps using the “Betsy Ross” flag and the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia, both venerable objects, to legitimize their abberations of hatred.
They do not speak for me, a Southern Black man, and I dare say they do not speak for the Southern Whites of SC. I want no apology for Slavery and no apology for the Confederacy. SC stands on its solid ground of true history which can not be changed and should be studied for a better future.
The “Flag” should stay and each draw their own opinions of it while recognizing it as a part of our history when Blacks and Whites suffered trying times in an unnecessary war – made by Abe Lincoln who was more of a racist than the leaders of the Confederate Army. Put those Socialistic neo-nazis in a real uniform and send them to Iraq.

  19. Moderate Guy

And I might add, Tyrone, that the ancestors of most of these protestor tourists from the icy Midwest probably did not immigrate to America until after 1865. They have no connection to the War Between the States.

  20. Brad Warthen

Actually, the Nazi “presidential candidate” allegedly lives in South Carolina — something he didn’t emphasize at the rally, but which you can find at his Web site.
He says he was born in Maryland, though.

  21. Moderate Guy

The Democrats have had a card-carrying communists and the leader of a National Socialist Party run for their presidential nomimation, which seems something to which the press should pay attention. One of the candidates had his microphone turned off at the national convention during his speech.
In 1992, the Communist Party USA did not run a candidate, and announced the Democratic Party had adopted much of their platform.
In 2000, Ralph Nader ran his campaign out of an office in the headquarters of the Communist Party USA. Coincidence? I think not.

  22. Tim Manning

The nazi rally was a consequence of people like Brad Warthen. Millions have admired the Confederate flag and felt great affection for it, but nazis had not rallied here in Columbia and praised it like this until a tiny cabal of transplanted, self-annointed, liberal media mouthpieces proclaimed that it was a symbol of hate. Shame on you Brad for you and your kind rolling out the red carpet for this nasty little strain that has always been a part of yankee heritage. They wouldn’t be here, giving a bad rap to all of us natives, who have family who fought for our country under the Confederate flag, if it weren’t for people like you—their natural antithesis. You are the flipside of the same coin, except that you enjoy the privilege of feeling arrogant and superior.

  23. Moderate Guy

You are correct. It was not the Confederate flag or monuments which attracted the neo-Nazis from Minnesota.
It was the media spotlight awaiting and inviting anyone who wants to protest, misuse and dishonor the South. Brad Warthen and Mike Fitts want to imitate the national media, hook up with the big city media, which hates the economic boom and much better race relations in the South.

  24. Rickyrab

Question: does Kyle’s statement constitute an illegal threat or a lawful opinion? It’s really borderline, doesn’t one think?

  25. Jimmy Shirley

People like Brad, and there millions of them all over the South, are just plain wrong. Just as are the traitorous SINO’s (Southern In Name Only) who pop up on these sites claiming, “I am Southern and I hate the flag”. These pukes are nothing but the pus of a boil. If these pukes had Confederate ancestry, as some claim, IF their ancestors had known what their descendants would be like, they would preferred to have been made infertile, rather than sire descendants like that.
A fitting retribution would be for millions of true Southerners to move to the north, take over by sheer numbers like they have here, and fly the noble banner from their State houses. Can you imagine? The Confederate Battle Flag flying all over Boston, Mass.; Augusta, Maine; Concord, N.H.; Trenton, N.J.; Albany, N.Y.; Providence, R.I.; Montpelier, Vermont; Hartford, Conn. on all of their State buildings?
