Well, they did it. Again.

Don’t know what to say, except those boys are just deadly competent. No, way beyond that. They just do it right, play after play. Real baseball. Solid. Constant. Superb.

And we have a national champion again. Or still. Or however you say it. We’ve never had to say this before. That’s OK. We could get used to it.

Actually, I guess we’ll have to, right?

Let’s hope the pride we feel in our state and our state’s flagship public university is not deflated by events later this morning at the State Legislature, but rather, doubled instead.

This is one of the truly great college sports teams I’ve ever seen. They just play so well as a team. No great individual talent. The announcers kept talking about where the various players on the different teams were drafted (by MLB, not the army) and our guys didn’t seem to measure up to Virginia or Florida. But in the end they stood tall as national champions. With 11 straight CWS wins the Gamecocks must be regarded as among the greatest ever teams. Who would have thunk it!

But where did the 13-16 year olds celebrate last night since 5 Points had the curfew. A shame it had to come to that.

Why is it a shame that 13-16 year olds couldn’t be out on the streets without their parents at 11:30 last night?
