And so it begins…

… at a pace so fast that there’s no time to focus a camera.

This is Rick Perry arriving at Doc’s Barbecue a little after 1 p.m.

Now, I’ve got to run catch Huntsman at 3. Then Romney, and, if possible, Santorum.

I already missed Ron Paul this morning. He did a little quick-stop thing at Owens Field this morning. Both Valerie Bauerlein of The Wall Street Journal and Corey Hutchins of The Free Times asked me at the Perry thing, “Where were you?”

Gee, people, cut me a break. I can’t be everywhere. And as I told Corey, I wasn’t there because, while I knew all these others would be here today, “I didn’t know about him.”

So Corey says, “Well, he’s this guy who’s been running for president for a number of years…”

That little wiseacre.

More later…

And what did Mr. Perry have to say? Other than that he’s for God and Country, and that they are both for him?

OK, I’m home now, after covering Perry, Huntsman, Romney and Santorum.

I’m way to tired to write anything about any of them. And I have to be at the airport at 6 a.m.

I’m just glad I’m not one of the ones running for president…

This is a phenomenon I’ve written about many times…

When there is a wealth of stuff to write about on the blog, I don’t have time to write about it.

I’ve got to start packing for my trip. I’ll see if I have any energy left when I’m done with that…

Here’s something I really don’t understand… there’s an article in today’s The State about dirty politics in South Carolina.

    http://www.thestate.com/2012/01/12/2110553/politicians-always-take-off-the.html

Here’s an excerpt about Wed Donehue, the guy whose internet video show (broadcast to a worldwide audience measured in the single digits) you’ve appeared on many times.

““We are in a new era of communications that doesn’t allow you to get away with the dirty tricks of the past,” said Wes Donehue, a S.C. political consultant who was working for U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, until she bowed out of the race after a poor showing in Iowa. “You can’t go anywhere without someone being there with a video camera.”

Donehue knows a thing or two about tricks.

During the 2008 GOP primary, reporters used Internet resources to discover Donehue was behind the PhonyFred.org website, which anonymously attacked Republican candidate Fred Thompson.

I just wonder why a guy like you, Brad, seems to enjoy swimming in the pool with the sharks. Especially when you harp on the perils of partisan politics perpetually. I just don’t get it.

    Doug…

Publicans and sinners, man. Herb can explain.

Seriously, these are the politicians — or their consultants. This is what I’m covering as a political writer.

Also, I appreciate what Wesley and Phil have going, as a Republican and a Democrat who can sit down and be civil talking politics over a beer. There’s not enough of that these days.

And when I, the UnParty guy, sit between them, there you go: You’ve got a complete set…

So you just ignore all the dirty tricks he doesn’t appear to be too repentant about?

Like I said, I don’t get it. I’d either stay away from people with questionable ethics or challenge them on their unethical behavior. But that’s just me. If you think wallowing in the mud with pigs doesn’t get a little slime on you, that’s fine.
