Graham, Mulvaney: Nativity scene back up at Shaw AFB

This came in a little while ago from Sen. Graham and Rep. Mulvaney:

Nativity Scene at Shaw AFB Restored

WASHNGTON — U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott, along with 5th District Congressman Mick Mulvaney, today made this statement on the Nativity scene at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina.

“We are pleased the Nativity scene has been restored at Shaw Air Force Base.  From the start, our offices have been in touch with Shaw officials expressing our concerns about this matter.  We appreciate the Air Force for listening to our complaint, keeping the Nativity scene on base, and moving it to the Chapel.”

Well – it was apparently gravely important to someone to complain about it – unless Shaw Air Force Base’s commanding General forced all the soldiers to go over and pray at the display- which I doubt and haven’t heard about.

So in this particular case- good for Senator Graham and Rep Mulvaney.

Well, removing a Satanism display would not have resulted in the same action. Government and its agents should neither advance nor unreasonably impede religion.

Ya mean that they took valuable time out of their pandering schedule in blamestorming healthcare.gov to do something like this? When is the next Federal Groundhog’s Day of shutting down the government again?

But it had already been stated on the news, that the nativity scene/crèche was simply in a place where it should not be. They are ok, as long as they are placed near a church. So the matter was already resolved. I am unimpressed by our senators’ work.
