Today, it hit me that my last four posts had been a bit wordy for general blog purposes. This one monster on Friday was 1,425 words, which is roughly twice as long as a lot of newspaper columns. (And it only drew 2 comments, more to the point.)

So today I’m going light. No attempts at gravitas.

Hence that last post. And this one…

Now see, stuff like THAT will harsh the whole “light” buzz.

I’m not going to blame the president for that pastor’s experience. I felt the same way at a Rolling Stones concert once…

I’ve got to get to one of his rallies NOW. The excitement! The fun! The elevated discussion! The mutual respect and politeness!

How about NO butter? Then I could eat it.

I’m thinking of starting a new movement, based on posing this question: Why would anyone who wants to sell something to a mass market EVER put an allergen into something that doesn’t need it?

If you’re serving shrimp cocktail, sure, it has to have shellfish in it. Making a quiche, I’ll accept that it’s going to have eggs. I know better than to eat quiche, because it might kill me — or make me wish it had.

But those of you who don’t have allergies or celiac disease just how many foods are sold allergens in the ingredients for no discernible reason.

OK, I’m saving the rest of this for a separate post…
